ETX Provisions (East Texas Provisions) is owned and operated by husband and wife culinary duo, chefs Lance and Bailey McWhorter.
In 2019 look for Lance's cutting edge farm to table pop ups in East Texas as well as the anticipated early summer opening of Bailey's modern, East Texas style BBQ restaurant "Iron+Ember BBQ" in Tyler, TX.
Currently, the chefs are offering restaurant consultations in the area, as well as bookings for pop-ups, caterings, private or group cooking/BBQ classes, and events.
We pride ourselves on forming great relationships with our local farmers and ranchers, and in utilizing their products in every way possible in our cuisine.
Together, and with our network of amazing chefs, bartenders, and service staff, we greatly look forward to bringing you our own tastes of the world at pop-ups, caterings, private events, lessons, and very soon at our exciting new restaurants!

Chef Lance was formerly the executive chef of two restaurants in the Texas Hill Country, before opening the much loved and celebrated McGarity’s Saloon in East Texas. After McGarity’s, he and Bailey decided to move west to try and further hone his skills by working under the best chefs he could find to learn from before planning a return to East Texas. Lance has made a great impact since arriving in the Dallas food scene in 2017, working as the Executive Sous Chef of SĒR Steak+Spirits in the Hilton Anatole followed by incredible experiences learning as a Chef de Partie under Matt McCallister at the legendary FT33 Dallas, and under David Uygur and Anthony Bombaci at Macellaio Dallas. Chef Lance is also currently the Executive Chef and Brand Ambassador for Texas Craft Wagyu Beef.
As a sixth generation Texan his food is firmly based on his East Texas roots, but, his tastes for food are truly worldly...
Throughout his military and professional careers, he has spent time in almost 40 different countries; soaking in the food, drink, and cultures abroad, and now turns those exposures towards his own style of cuisine; East Texas comfort food, Cajun, Middle Eastern, Asian, Mediterranean, Latin American, and wherever he and Bailey travel next!
Chef Bailey has become known as a powerhouse in the Texas BBQ scene. She prides herself in the creation of incredible traditional Texas BBQ and has stoked the pits at two of Texas Monthly's “Top 50” BBQ restaurants, Joseph’s Riverport BBQ, in Jefferson, TX, and Lockhart Smokehouse in Dallas. And is currently consulting for BBQ restaurants in East Texas.
She has also branched out into learning American and Italian Cuisine as a Chef de Partie at Americano at the Joule in Dallas, to hone the extra skills needed to accompany her meats with side-dishes unlike any seen before in Texas BBQ!
Bailey is also an accomplished bartender and mixologist, crafting cocktails for McGarity’s with Lance, as well as in several bustling bars and restaurants in Houston and Louisiana.
